Our Mission

We are at the dawn of the Government Technology (“GovTech”) era. New technologies are rapidly transforming government and administration. The scale of this transformation will be more profound than any previous phase of administrative transformation. It is the shared responsibility of government and the tech scene to harness the potential of these new digital technologies to tackle the major challenges of our time and make our government technologically capable.

We believe in the transformative power of new technologies for the modernization of government, administration, and society. To this end, we facilitate the application and scaling of digital technologies and solutions by government and administration, foster strong partnerships between government and the tech scene, and are committed to secure technology use.

About Us

GovTech Deutschland is a joint initiative of the federal government, the federal states, and the tech scene. Since its founding in 2022, GovTech Deutschland has been making digital innovations and technologies accessible, scalable, and applicable for government and administration.

As the world's first organization of its kind, we are building a comprehensive development, testing, and scaling environment in Germany for digital solutions and other technologies for the federal government, states, and municipalities, as well as for other areas in the public sector such as healthcare or national security.

Our innovation ecosystem includes the federal government and the states, as well as over 150 renowned organizations and institutions from the (tech) industry, administration, research, and civil society as supporting members. GovTech Deutschland develops and implements concrete, scalable, and producible innovation and technology projects between the tech scene and the public sector, pilots their application, develops models for reuse, builds one of the world's leading GovTech ecosystems, and makes government and administration technologically capable.

The demand for technological support in public administration at federal and state levels, down to municipalities, is high and continues to grow. Together with our GovTech ecosystem, we contribute our expertise to address the challenges faced by the public sector with cutting-edge tech solutions. To this end, we analyze the problem, validate potential solution technologies, and, together with our ecosystem, realize solutions that can be reused by other beneficiaries.
