About the opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Backend developer in .NET Core / C# to design and build the EmS Platform for a Tier-1 UK bank. You will work on secure and scalable APIs, database integrations on AWS, automation with BDD, and agile delivery in a financial context (fintech/accounting/financial services). Experience with Azure and AI agent flows is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs in .NET Core / C#.
- Database modeling and optimization (MySQL) on AWS (RDS/Aurora or equivalent).
- Implement security, authentication, and authorization following banking/PSD2 requirements (tokens, OAuth/OIDC when applicable).
- Create API specifications and contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger) and perform tests with Postman.
- Automate acceptance tests with BDD (e.g., SpecFlow/Cucumber) and integrate with CI/CD pipeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on agile delivery (sprint planning, refinement, demos).
- Design flows involving AI agents (integration and orchestration), when applicable.
- Provide technical documentation and support for UAT/regulatory approval to the UK client.
Mandatory Skills and Requirements
- Strong experience in .NET Core and C# (backend).
- Solid knowledge in API Design and Development (REST/HTTP, OpenAPI).
- Experience with MySQL and AWS-hosted databases (RDS/Aurora, backups, performance tuning).
- Hands-on experience with Postman (collections, automated tests).
- Experience with BDD (SpecFlow, Cucumber, or similar) and acceptance testing.
- Experience with Agile methodologies/Agile Delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
- Previous experience with financial services / fintech / accounting or regulated projects is strongly desired.
- Fluent English and ability to communicate with UK stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Azure (App Services, Functions, Key Vault, DevOps).
- Knowledge in microservice orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with financial security (PCI, encryption in transit and at rest).
- Experience in developing for/with AI agent flows (prompt orchestration, RAG, LLM APIs).
- Relevant certifications (.NET, AWS, Azure, security).
