CORE MISSION

HSPG’s mission is to put a roof over the heads of the people who need it most.

Having somewhere to call home is one of our most important basic human needs. The housing shortage presents one of the biggest social crises in the UK. We’re here to create thousands of homes to alleviate that.

We can only scale at our desired pace through innovation. We are living through one of the most significant technology shifts in history, and we plan to drive our growth through tech-first, AI-enabled solutions. We expect everyone on the team to look for the tech solution first.

PPHA’s north star is to create homes for more than 8,000 families and individuals by 2030.

Your core mission is to help bring intelligence to HSPG, so our teams can deliver more homes, faster.

Intelligence is central to our tech transformation, and rests on three pillars: insight, automation and fluency. In practice, that means making our data easy to query and visualise, simplifying and automating how we work, and upskilling team members to use AI well. Much of this is built on top of Connie, HSPG’s Operating System. Working closely with the AI Manager, you will help deliver all three.

HSPG is a social impact real estate company: building partnerships, creating homes, developing communities. At the heart of our Living Sector platform is PPHA, the Group’s For Profit Registered Provider: co-owned in a Joint Venture by HSPG and global investment firm Sixth Street. We are backed by over £1bn, made up of equity and debt. As one of Homes England’s Strategic Partners, we have an additional £150m to deploy. We deliver Section 106 and grant-funded Affordable Rent and Shared Ownership homes at scale.

OBSESS

These points get you out of bed in the morning and keep you up at night! If you’re not obsessed with these, the role isn’t for you.

Commercial AI: you look for where AI can save us time or increase our capabilities, whether that’s through how we use it or what we build with it.

Curiosity: you ask excellent questions to understand how our tech works, how our systems connect and how each team operates.

Successful implementation: new systems only add value once team members adopt them, so you don’t count a build or system as a success until the people around you understand it, use it and are as excited about it as you are.

EXCEL

You are excellent at these areas: an expert.

Technical ability: you’re hands-on with tech and pick things up quickly. You keep up as it changes, put new tools to practical use and get to know the systems we run on, like Connie, inside out.

Problem solving: you identify the root cause of a problem using first-principles thinking, then evaluate alternative solutions and recommend the best one.

Communication: you put complex, unfamiliar technical concepts into layperson’s terms, so team members understand them and become more capable, not more dependent on you.

90-day wins

Early traction and strategic control.

You will have met every team, mapped how they work, and produced a list of where tech and AI could help each one, for the AI Manager to prioritise.

Designed a tiered AI training programme with the AI Manager, delivered the first level, and set up weekly office hours where team members bring their technical questions to you.

Made changes to our in-house tools where beneficial, and produced a list of where each one could be improved next.

12-month impact outcomes

Material impact and results within first 12 months.

Time saved across the business equal to three months of one person’s working time, logged in our AI wins tracker.

Average AI confidence across the business at 7 out of 10 or higher, measured by a survey every two months from your first month.

Independently built three new tools that help the business work faster or increase its capabilities.

You have made yourself the go-to person for Connie, from helping team members make full use of it to changing its configuration.
