Senior Data Migration Consultant - SAP S/4HANA
Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Migration Consultant to strengthen the team responsible for the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, covering logistics, finance, RE, and HCM modules. The professional should have solid experience in large-scale projects, involving both SAP systems and non-SAP legacy systems.
The consultant will act in all phases of the migration, from gathering requirements with the client to the final production load, being responsible for defining the migration scope, analysis, mapping, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation of data.
Location: Germany
Language: Fluent English (spoken and written)
Availability: Aligned with Portugal time zone
Geographies: Work with multinational teams
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete SAP ECC → SAP S/4HANA data migration process.
- Conduct requirements gathering and workshops with business areas and functional teams.
- Define and manage the data migration scope in conjunction with client stakeholders.
- Analyze, map, and document data objects and their respective transformation rules.
- Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading using:
- SAP Data Services (BODS)
- SAP Migration Cockpit
- IDocs
- LSMW
- SAP RFC and integrations
- Work with objects from the following modules:
- MM (Materials Management)
- SD (Sales & Distribution)
- PP (Production Planning)
- WM (Warehouse Management)
- FI (Financial Accounting)
- CO (Controlling)
- RE-FX / SAP Real Estate
- SAP HCM (Human Capital Management)
- Coordinate migration testing cycles, data validation, reconciliation, and cutover activities.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality and consistency.
- Interact daily with clients and international teams for alignment, clarifications, and validations.
- Produce functional and technical documentation in English.
- Support the definition of data strategy and governance during the transformation program.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
- Proven experience in data migration for large-scale SAP projects.
- Experience in SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA migration projects.
- Solid knowledge of SAP Data Services (BODS), SAP Migration Cockpit, IDocs, LSMW, and RFC.
- Experience in migrating financial and accounting objects.
- Experience in migrating SAP Real Estate (RE-FX) and SAP HCM objects.
- Ability to conduct requirements gathering sessions with the client.
- Experience in migration scope management and defining load strategies.
- Fluent English for daily communication, workshops, documentation, and presentations.
- Experience in environments involving SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Availability to work during Portugal business hours.
