About the opportunity

We are looking for a consultant to help strengthen data security across Microsoft 365. The work includes implementing Microsoft Purview controls, improving DLP policies, and supporting identity and access security.

Additional Requirements

Location: Downtown Houston, TX — onsite Monday–Friday

Employment: Contract | Immediate start

Responsibilities

Review existing data protection controls and recommend improvements.

Configure sensitivity labels, data classification, encryption, and automated labeling.

Implement and fine-tune DLP policies for Microsoft 365 applications and employee devices.

Review alerts, resolve policy issues, and reduce unnecessary notifications.

Assist with Entra ID access controls, permissions, and access reviews.

Maintain clear documentation and coordinate with security and IT teams.

Required Experience

5+ years in cybersecurity, including 3+ years working directly with Microsoft Purview and DLP.

Hands-on experience deploying data protection policies in an enterprise Microsoft 365 environment.

Understanding of Entra ID and identity and access management.

Familiarity with Microsoft Defender security tools.

Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with clients.

Preferred

Microsoft security certification, PowerShell experience, or experience supporting regulated industries.
