We are currently seeking, for one of our leading clients in the Financial Services and Microfinance sector, a: DATA SCIENTIST
Position Objective
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join Gentera's DataOps & MLOps Strategy to design, train, and monitor Machine Learning models that add business value, acting with autonomy, initiative, and active communication with their Manager and team. The individual will be responsible for the entire model lifecycle, from data identification and validation to its migration to the cloud analytics platform, working hand-in-hand with internal teams to unlock access to proprietary data of a regulated financial entity, and progressively increasing their level of autonomy as they demonstrate results.
Responsibilities
- Identify, map, and extract model inputs (data sources, formats, and frequency).
- Process and document identified inputs, applying data validation methodologies and consistency tests.
- Perform exploratory analysis, processing, and preparation of the data to be used.
- Execute experimentation and training of Machine Learning models (classification, regression, clustering), evaluating results to select the winning model.
- Generate validations on model performance consistency (cross-validation, backtesting).
- Develop model performance monitoring, data drift, and business metrics.
- Collaborate with the Machine Learning Engineer / MLOps Engineer in preparing models for production deployment.
- Migrate models trained by the data science team to an analytics platform for models on GCP.
- Generate clear and reusable documentation that facilitates future model maintenance.
- Stay continuously trained on the latest analytical technological tools to ensure their use and application in projects.
Requirements
- Experience of +03 years in Data Science as a Data Scientist.
- Advanced experience with Python applied to Machine Learning.
- Intermediate experience with SQL and good practices for building data queries.
- Basic experience with GIT and good practices for reproducibility and versioning.
- Cloud experience for ML: GCP (Vertex AI/BigQuery) or AWS (SageMaker).
- Training of Machine Learning models (classification, regression, clustering), knowledge in statistics (probability and distributions), and use of Jupyter notebooks.
- Availability to work HYBRID from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Mexico City, Mexico.
- Preparation of models for production, with desirable knowledge in MLOps/model deployment; diplomas or certifications in data science, ML, or AI are a plus.
