As a Senior AI Engineer (LLM & Speech) (m/f/d), you will develop production-ready AI modules for software solutions that support outpatient care services, municipal bulky waste planning, and retail fleets, among others. You will combine modern language models with scalable pipelines and work with Product, Engineering, and Architecture to ensure quality, performance, stability, and cost control in production use.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
- Develop, integrate, and operate production-ready AI modules for our software products, transforming technical approaches into real applications.
- Process language using Large Language Models, transcription, semantic analysis, and voice interfaces, unlocking concrete application possibilities in our products.
- Design embedding and retrieval approaches such as Retrieval Augmented Generation and reliably integrate them into existing software solutions.
- Develop robust inference, evaluation, and optimization logic, ensuring the reliable use of AI models in production.
- Build scalable AI and ML pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment, and continuously improve existing processes.
- Combine classic Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts with modern architectures, creating a resilient technical foundation for new AI features.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture to ensure AI components are seamlessly integrated into real applications.
- Ensure the quality, performance, stability, and cost control of AI components, and improve them based on usage, quality, and performance metrics.
- Shape the technical environment with a high degree of personal responsibility and direct influence on the further development of our software products.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Several years of professional experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or in a comparable product-focused role.
- Excellent command of Python and secure handling of structured and unstructured data.
- A solid foundation in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, particularly in training, optimization, and modern architectures.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Proven experience in engineering and operating production AI systems.
- Proficiency in the fundamentals of ML Ops, especially deployment, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring in live operation.
- Confident use of container technologies like Docker for the development and operation of AI components.
- Analytical and structured thinking with a commitment to reliably integrating AI into software products.
- Confident communication of complex technical and quality-related content in German and English.
