What we are planning together

We are shaping the future of data management in the food retail sector with Data Mesh. As a Data Product Engineer (m/f/d), you will develop scalable, high-performance, and high-quality data products as the basis for AI applications, dashboards, and operational decisions. You are comfortable in modern cloud architectures (GCP) and combine software engineering standards with a deep understanding of our data context. With fast, iterative development cycles, you will quickly deliver added value – technically sound, factually substantiated, and compliant with governance. Our GCP-based data landscape relies on Snowflake, Kafka, dbt, and Terraform, among others, and offers you scope for design in a modern Data Mesh setup.

What you will achieve with us

  1. Develop data products: You will further develop modular data products on GCP, using Snowflake, Kafka, dbt, and SQL, among others.
  1. Sharpen architecture & standards: You will establish best practices for Data Contracts and work with standards such as ODPS/ODCS.
  1. Transform & automate: You will develop robust transformation logic with dbt, Snowpark, Python, and SQL. You will also ensure code quality (Git, CI/CD) and implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
  1. Ensure quality, transparency & compliance: You will define and monitor data quality metrics (SLOs, SLIs). You will ensure automated lineage tracking, maintain metadata in the data catalog, and implement access concepts and GDPR-compliant developments.
  1. Translate & collaborate factually: You will work closely with domain managers, data product owners, architects, and platform teams. You will translate business requirements into technical designs and data models and penetrate the data landscape to quickly recognize interrelationships and deliver reliable results.
