MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Perform activities related to the support and administration of the IBM Mainframe network based on the z15 model, including communication lines, connection equipment, connectivity software, and basic operating, configuration, and functionality utilities.
- Configure VTAM to define the z/OS system network environment;
- Configure OSA card interfaces, according to IODEF;
- Define access terminals for the z/OS system such as: consoles, VTAM terminals, terminals for Telnet TCPIP services;
- Define terminals and interfaces for applications such as CICS, OMEGAMON, DB2 among others;
- Configure TCPIP address space to provide network services;
- Configure network services such as TELNET, FTP, SMTP, PRINTING;
- Monitor network services provided at the client's site;
- Document the client's mainframe network services and connections;
- Perform monitoring and capacity planning of the assets under your responsibility;
- Support in identifying IT solutions within the System Z network environment;
- Monitor the following operational parameters of the components: availability of System Z network components;
- Support the installation and configuration of optional features and products by creating the necessary structures for the features and/or products in the System Z network environment;
- Develop and maintain procedures in the monitoring tools used by the client for monitoring the following minimum operational parameters of System Z network components: unavailability of equipment and channels, performance failures and bottlenecks, performance drops below the acceptable critical limit.
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's degree in IT, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Processing Technology, or similar; or, Bachelor's degree in any field with a Postgraduate degree in areas of IT interest with a minimum of 360 hours, such as Information Technology, Computer Systems, Information Security and Auditing, Information Systems Development, Methods, Organization and Quality in Computer Systems, or similar.
- Knowledge: Configuration, monitoring, management, and performance evaluation tools for System Z; IBM environment network configurations (OSA cards, TCP/IP, Pchid and Chpid); Production Planning and Control; Advanced TCP/IP; Network server and data communication environment traffic monitoring (sniffer) and diagnostic systems; Types of digital threats and attack models and prevention in corporate networks; TSO; JCL; IBM OSA; IBM VTAM; TCP/IP; IBM Tivoli Netview for z/OS; IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE for Networks on z/OS V5; Computer systems architecture; Client/Server systems architecture; Technical English (Advanced); IT Governance principles and fundamentals.
- Desirable experience: 05 years in activities related to those described and according to the required knowledge; Implementation of corporate network and system solutions.
