Starchild is building the interface for working with AI agents.
Our product brings together chat, automation, tools, memory, workflows, and multimodal creation into one AI-native workspace. We are exploring what happens when agents are not just assistants, but active collaborators that can help people research, build, monitor, create, and operate.
We are looking for people who enjoy building from first principles, moving quickly, and turning messy, open-ended problems into products that feel simple and useful.
About the opportunity
We are looking for a resourceful and ambitious AI Operations & Research Intern based in Florianópolis to join us on this mission. You’ll play an integral role in the team, helping turn ideas and strategies into real, creatively executed initiatives within a fast-moving AI startup environment. 👍
We are still early, which means the work is high-ownership, fast-moving, and often ambiguous. You will have the opportunity to influence not just what we build, but how we build it.

What you’ll be working on
- Support research and analysis across real estate data, investment opportunities, and emerging tech applications.
- Assist in building small tools or quick prototypes (e.g., using Python or no-code/AI tools) to improve workflows.
- Collect, clean, and organize local and online data to support decision-making.
- Coordinate with local stakeholders and help drive operational execution on the ground.
- Contribute to testing ideas and helping move projects from concept to execution.
Who will you be working with?
- Work directly with the founder on day-to-day initiatives and strategic exploration.
- Collaborate across different project areas including real estate, agriculture, and tech.
- Support coordination with external partners when needed.
What challenges will you face?
- Working across diverse and sometimes ambiguous projects with evolving priorities.
- Balancing research, execution, and coordination tasks simultaneously.
- Figuring things out independently with limited structure or predefined processes.
- Adapting quickly and leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and output quality.
Getting the job
We're actively seeking talented individuals to join our team outside of our typical hiring schedule. This proactive approach allows us to connect with exceptional candidates like you even before specific positions become available.
On average, successful candidates go through five rounds of interviews and tests. Our hiring process begins by meeting with our People Team, who help facilitate the process of placing you in your new role. You can expect to share your experience and ideas in online video interviews with our hiring team, made up of management and potential new colleagues.

Minimum requirements
About you
- Student or recent graduate (Computer Science, Systems, Economics, Business, or related fields).
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Basic coding skills (Python, data handling, or rapid prototyping).
- Based in Florianópolis.
Bonus
- Spanish proficiency.
- Experience with social media or content distribution.
Additional Info
- Part-time (~20 hours/week) with flexible working hours (not a standard 9–5).
- Opportunity to convert to a full-time role.
- Monthly compensation + potential performance bonus.
